STAR, Inc., Lighting the Way is an organization serving individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities, as well as providing support services to their families in the Connecticut towns of Greenwich, Darien, Westport, New Canaan, Wilton, Norwalk and Stamford. They create opportunities for individuals to live full lives with independence, freedom of choice and personal growth by providing support, services and advocacy. They inform and encourage the community to recognize and appreciate the value of all individuals despite their disabilities. Each year, they hold a STAR Gala Dinner Dance and Auction which raises over $300,000 to benefit local individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. The CT Chapter of the NFL Alumni on November 3rd, 2018, was so proud to be a part of this significant event and as such made a donation to continue the special partnership between the two organizations. NFL Alumni thanks STAR for all that they do.
